Introduction to Safety Inductions App

Safety induction is a mobile application aiming to reduce cost related to the presence of sub-contractors or external service providers on site. When time management is at utmost importance (outages, urgencies), external service providers are called upon on site to perform tasks, inspections, or maintenance work, while having one EHS officer on site, the execution of the safety inductions can take several hours of the officer’s time (who is required to perform other tasks in that situation) Statistically, an induction takes on average 15 minutes, when multiplied by the number of visitors, it can elevate to several hours (even when done by groups) This application is developed as described next to tackle this situation.


The use of the camera is mandatory for the app to function, only by using the scan option that further actions can be performed, if you have refused the authorization window by mistake, you can always allow the use of the camera from Settings -> Applications -> App Authorizations.

After submitting the survey, your responses are automatically submitted to the health and safety officer of the plant you will be visiting, you do not have the possibility to see them any longer.

Site specific QR codes are the only ones that can redirect you further in the app.

Since no personal data are used during the authentication, all is required is the QR code.

No, the induction using this application must be done personally by each person. Otherwise, the respective power plant must be contacted.

The app does not allow any notification features.

The induction time depends on the power plant. The Question-Answer-part depends on each person. The app has no impact on these parameters.
