Waste to Energy

Siemens Energy maintains its commitment to the environment in the design of applications that use fuels obtained from processes such as water treatment, garbage, biomethanization or gasification processes.  Among the Waste to Energy applications where the reciprocating engine is used, one of the most common is in waste water sewage treatment plants. The power and heat produced by the CHP system is used in the water treatment plant process when producing the biogas which is then burned in the engines to produce energy.   Power generation using landfill gases from landfill gas collection systems installed in garbage dumps is another of the applications in which Siemens gas engines have shown great flexibility and performance.   Due to the great fuel flexibility, Siemens energyEngines are available for running with different gases such syngas, pyrolysis gas or gas produced by biomethanization processes.
