As the world’s most innovative manufacturer of transformers, Siemens will supply the four GSU transformers required to the leading Spanish EPC. Each transformer has a rated power of 367 megavolt ampere (MVA) and a rated voltage of 400 kilovolt (kV). Together they will ensure that the 875 megawatts from the natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant reliably arrive where electricity is needed. Delivery of the transformers has been scheduled for September 2018. They will be installed in January 2019. “We are looking forward to helping our customer improve the quality and availability of power in the region with this important energy infrastructure project,” remarks Dr. Beatrix Natter, CEO of Siemens Transformers.
