Your technical benefits may include:

  • Provides up to 10% GT power output
  • Operational flexibility that provides power on demand
  • Independent of relative humidity unlike fogging or evaporative cooling solutions currently on the market which provide less benefit on humid days.
  • Compensate for reduced power output at higher ambient temperatures.
  • Demineralized water required

50MAC Flex

With Siemens Energy's 50MAC Flex our customers can choose between maintenance interval extension or performance increase on demand.

Your technical benefits may include:

  • Availability and Performance Flexibility: Customer can switch any time between high power output and longer intervals and switch back
  • By opting for extended maintenance interval the customer may operate the gas turbine up to 50MAC
  • Whereas opting for performance increase Siemens Energy's 50MAC Flex may increase the power output and the efficiency
  • Flexible operation mode with minor I&C modifications
  • Higher power output with same NOx emissions (ppm)

Compressor Mass Flow Increase (CMF+)

Power plants in power capacity markets could be missing out on additional revenue opportunities. With the Compressor Mass Flow Increase solution, new compressor hardware designed to allow an increase in mass flow is installed.Imagine your gas turbine and plant having the ability to generate the extra mass flow necessary to increase the Power Output of the plant. For a combine cycle base load unit, this additional mass flow could provide up to an additional 40,000 MWh of extra capacity per year.

Your technical benefits may include:

  • Up to 4 MW in Simple Cycle
  •  Up to 5 MW in Combined Cycle (1x1)

Si3D™ Turbine Blades and Vanes

Power plants that experience either high fuel prices, power capacity shortages, power limit restrictions at cold ambient temperatures or high turbine blade & vane scrape rates may be missing out on either cost savings or revenue opportunities or both. Imagine your plant having the ability to improve all these conditions with one upgrade - The Si3D™ Turbine Airfoil Upgrade.

This upgrade is designed to provide benefits in Efficiency improvement, Power Output increase, Cost Optimization in parts life and a gas turbine Power Limit Increase. All benefits to improve gas turbine performance and life cycle costs to assist in providing your plant with a Competitive Advantage in a tough market environment.

Your technical benefits may include:*

  • Potential 3.5% fuel savings due to increase in gas turbine Efficiency
  • Increased gas turbine power capacity up to 7 MW in SC*
  • Reduction in turbine airfoil scrap rates over standard airfoils
  • Raise Power Limit by up to 10% for power output at cold ambient temperatures
  • Compatible with Extended Scheduled Service Interval upgrades

*Iso ambient conditions. Actual megawatts (MW) is highly ambient and site dependent and are subject to engineering plant evaluation.

Fuel Alternatives

Siemens Energy is experienced in engineering, supply and installation of the systems and components for various fuel alternatives. Siemens Energy recommends to perform a fuel conversion feasibility study as a first step in order to assess the site conditions and determine the preconditions.

Your technical benefits may include:

  • Achievement of reliable coverage of base load power despite limitations of fuel sources
  • Wide range of fuel alternatives can be covered, e.g. H2, LNG, Methanol, Bio Diesel etc.
  • Adaption to environmental, governmental and local requirements
  • Positive impact on the carbon footprint, depending on the specific fuel
  • Increased operating flexibility

Turn Down (T/D)

The demand for electrical power and the electricity price is changing during the day. Therefore increased flexibility is needed.

Turn Down enables potential to operate in the lowest possible load and minimum power output during low-price periods desired.

The upgrade applies to customers who want to decrease the GT load (in SC / CC) when there is no / low spark spread.

Your technical benefits may include:

  • A load reduction up to 15MW (delta) may be achieved in Part Load (actual figure depends on IGV setting before/ after upgrade)
  • The load reduction potential may lead to fuel gas savings of up to 3.000 Nm3/h (relevant for district heating/ steam production or whenever the Gas Turbine is not permitted to be shut down)
  • This Turn Down product can enable very low part load operation down to a minimum of 25% Gas Turbine load
  • Increased operational flexibility, especially for periods when the power demand is low
  • Extended range for grid support features
  • Benefit (constant TT2) is relevant for CC operation
  • Best benefit potential in combination with Turn Up
  • Product implementation could be done during weekend shutdown
