Atura Power Halton Hills Generating Station

Atura Power is playing a leadership role in establishing the supply of low-carbon hydrogen in Ontario. They turned to Siemens Energy to support their hydrogen co-firing project at their Halton Hills Generating Station. Siemens Energy has already provided two of their highly efficient F-class gas turbines to the plant. The company provides their hydrogen blending equipment which enables Atura Power to co-fire hydrogen in the gas turbines.

This is one of the first hydrogen co-firing projects in Ontario and Siemens Energy’s first permanent installation of their hydrogen blending skid in North America. This project will help address Ontario’s energy needs by supplying resilient power with lower CO₂ emissions, another step towards Ontario’s net-zero future.

Bruce Power has signed an agreement with Siemens Energy Canada for new high-pressure steam turbines for its Bruce A nuclear units, a project that will provide new generation to help meet Ontario’s growing need for clean energy,

The upgrades are expected to increase output by more than 30 MW per unit, delivering approximately 125 MW of additional clean electricity to Ontario’s grid.
