Highlighting veterans who found opportunity and purpose in energy careers

The energy transition is driving workforce growth. Since nearly 10% of the U.S. energy workforce consists of veterans, these skilled professionals are a valued source of new talent for Siemens Energy. To increase awareness of career opportunities for veterans, Siemens Energy is partnering with Military Makeover: Operation Career. The series showcases veterans’ journeys from the military to civilian life and highlights organizations that support veterans making that shift.

ECAP is an 18-month rotational development program for early career engineers focused on the transmission industry. This program offers three tracks: Generalist, Manufacturing and Control & Protection. The generalist track offers the widest exposure to the transmission industry inclusive of our innovative products, solutions and services. The manufacturing and control & protection tracks are specialist opportunities, with defined rotations. All tracks will rotate through Raleigh, NC, Richland, MS and sites across the US, as applicable. Program participants will also participate in four Formal Learnings, with exposure to our internal industry experts, to further their competence and confidence.

ECAP provides an opportunity to participate in the energy transition as part of our Grid Technologies business. This hands-on experience program allows for engaging with our technology and customers. As the program continues to evolve, we look forward to adding more opportunities through our new transformer factory, which is being built in Charlotte, NC.

Who should apply?

We’re looking for individuals with these characteristics:

A genuine interest in the electric grid and its ongoing transition
Curious, self-driven learners, who enjoy finding and using all available resources to build innovative solutions to challenging issues
A desire to understand the energy business inclusive of engineering, business development, project management, and field service disciplines
A degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or power systems engineering, inclusive of structural or construction management or tightly related degree
Open to domestic travel throughout the program, relocation through rotations and completion of the program.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization

Opportunities

Formal learning and training with experienced professionals

Use fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to complete assigned tasks while learning about the business, and potentially lead to a permanent role within the Transmission Division
Work directly with our experienced experts to develop skills that include engineering, business development, project management, maintenance, job site safety, leadership, and Siemens Energy’s business systems

Throughout the 14-month Sales & Marketing Development Program, you will experience four different rotations within Siemens Energy’s sales & marketing organizations. You will learn about the generation, transportation, applications & storage of electricity, as well as the various industrial processes we provide solutions for. Siemens Energy will provide you with hands-on coaching and more than seven weeks of training, enabling you to develop technical and commercial competencies in the sales & marketing fields, while establishing a comprehensive business network across our company, from professional to executive.

You may start with Siemens Energy thinking you have an average understanding of the energy industry but will quickly discover a complexity that propels you on a lifelong investment into one of the most fascinating global industries. Who should apply?

Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business/Marketing, or other related fields
Candidates who have graduated within 12 months of the program start date
Have permanent work authorization in the U.S.
Must be able to relocate to Orlando for the duration of the program
Candidates will be willing to travel for extended periods of time during the program as well as willing to relocate after the program is completed

Finance Program (FEA)

A 2-year program with Siemens Energy's Finance and Accounting organization across North America.

FEA is a 2 year rotational program, comprised of three, 8-month rotations. Program participants will learn about diverse finance disciplines, including accounting, service operations finance, manufacturing finance, commercial project management, sales, and business controlling.

Who should apply?

- Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics, data analytics, or other business-related disciplines

- Candidates who have graduated within 12 months of the program start date

- Willingness to travel and relocate through the duration of the program

- Internship, co-op, or relevant work experience would be an advantage

Early Career Field Service Engineer Training Program

Learn on the job with this one-year training program, in Canada, Turkey, South Africa or Saudi Arabia with specialized opportunities.

Join our one-year training program to become a Field Service Engineer including classroom and on-the-job training. This is a global program offered in Canada, Turkey, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and has specialized opportunities in the following areas: Project Management Services, Field Technology Services, Turbine Services, Generator Services, and Plant Auxiliary Services.

Who should apply?

We are looking for people with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or 8+ years of applicable experience
Permanent work authorization in the U.S. is required
Must be willing to relocate
Willing to work away from home on average 200-250 days per year (including holidays)
Assignments typically 2-10 weeks in duration
On assignment working schedules typically 10-14 hours per day, 6-7 days per week

Summer Intern Program

The 2025 Summer Internship Program is open to students who are presently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States. The purpose of the program is to provide students with relevant work experience and exposure to the Energy Industry.

The Siemens Energy Internship Program has roles across all areas of our business. It is a ten week program that kicks off in June and ends in August. The program provides students with an opportunity to work on projects relevant to their field of study. In addition to project work, we host an executive speaker series, learning and development opportunities, networking events with other intern groups, and visits to the Siemens Energy Innovation Center and Wind Training Facility.

Industrial Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program (CIISAp)

EDP

EDP aims to develop new engineers to keep up with technological advancements and ensure long-term success, leadership, and adaptability for our business. The EDP program combines classroom learning with engineering and manufacturing work assignments.

EDP is a one year program, comprised of 3 rotations. Participants will potentially work in Manufacturing, Repairs, R&D, Field Service, Engineering, or Product Support; and will gain hands on exposure to real business challenges, along with ongoing learning and development opportunities.
