NDE and inspection portfolio
Siemens Energy has built an extensive portfolio of patents and applications related to non-destructive examination and inspection of power generation equipment including turbines, blades, and generators. Much of this technology may be applicable to testing and inspection of other components not manufactured by Siemens Energy.
Includes patents related to 3D printing hardware, such as layer preparation and recoating hardware, platform control, quality control and powder batch handling solutions. Also includes patents directed to add-on hardware features to 3D print alternative materials, such as composite structures, solutions for so-called support structure removal, and process monitoring in general.
Perovskite solar cells
The portfolio relates to applications that include the use of the upcoming PV semiconductor perovskite, either in hybrid form as silicon/perovskite tandem cells or using only perovskite semiconductor. Some patents refer to with the doping materials used to optimized p-contacts to the perovskite semiconductor, others relate to system integration of perovskite containing PV cells e.g., for power generation purposes.
Siemens Energy owns thousands of patents in various technology areas but focused on energy production and transmission. Siemens Energy is interested in licensing many of these patents, particularly in industries outside of the Siemens Energy business.
