As the VP UK & Ireland, Siemens Energy, Darren has a team of over 7,500 people working on some of the region’s biggest energy projects: from power generation to grid and renewable technologies. We have invested over £1billion in our facilities in the UK in the last decade, including in Aberdeen, Hull, Lincoln, Manchester, Newcastle, Ulverston and Worcester. Darren started his career in the energy sector as an apprentice engineer, in Newcastle, back in 1988. During his 35-year career he has had the opportunity to work in the energy sector across the globe including in Switzerland, Canada and the Middle East.
