Because the steam turbine runs on the gas turbine’s exhaust heat, Ocean Green is in effect a waste-heat-recovery power plant at sea – the efficiency logic of a combined cycle station, packaged into an engine room. For vessels that need zero-emission electrical power rather than a new main engine, fuel cells are the complementary technology.
