Compression is a critical element of FPSO operations, supporting key processes such as gas lift, gas injection, fuel gas supply, export gas handling and CO₂ reinjection. Siemens Energy provides a broad portfolio of centrifugal and reciprocating compressor solutions specifically engineered to meet the demanding requirements of offshore production environments, including high availability, compact design and long term operational reliability. 

Centrifugal compressor solutions

Siemens Energy centrifugal compressors are widely deployed on FPSOs for high flow, continuous duty applications. Based on proven technologies, these compressors are optimised for applications including gas injection, export compression and CO₂ reinjection. Compact, high pressure centrifugal compressor solutions enable  challenging production to high reservoir pressures while reducing overall footprint and weight, a key advantage for topside integration. Our DATUM compressor has been successfully applied on FPSOs operating in high pressure, corrosive conditions, deep water and pre salt fields, delivering reliable performance under high pressures and demanding process conditions. 

Motor driven and all electric compression trains

To support electrification strategies and emissions reduction goals, Siemens Energy offers motor driven compressor trains for FPSO applications. These solutions are a core element of all electric FPSO concepts and are used across main gas compression, gas lift, booster sales, gas re-injection and CO₂ compression and sequestration services. Electric motor driven compressors enable high efficiency, reduced maintenance requirements and seamless integration with advanced power management and automation systems. Reciprocating compressor solutions

For applications requiring high pressure at lower flow rates or wide operational flexibility, Siemens Energy typically supplies High speed reciprocating compressors for FPSO use. These compressors are well suited for fuel gas, flash gas and gas lift services where variable flow conditions and high pressure ratios are required. The portfolio includes electrically driven and engine driven configurations, designed in accordance with international offshore standards and classification requirements.
