Reference: Turbodyne (D-R) Case Footprint
Project Description
The existing Turbodyne turbine was built in 1976 and has been repaired many times due to the excessive corrosion on the case. The customer requested to supply a replacement upgraded steam turbine case with options for the stationary steam path components.
Solution
Siemens offered a new case designed to improve the overall reliability and still match the exact footprint and piping connections. The turbine case will also include the centerline support feature for mounting the diaphragms. The material will be carbon steel for the inlet and extraction section and 400 series stainless steel for the double flow section. To improve the efficiency of this turbine, Siemens proposed to utilize new nozzle rings and diaphragms (PRV – Profiled Ring and Vane) throughout the turbine.
