Innovation is an essential driver for Siemens Energy to create energy solutions that are reliable, secure, sustainable, and affordable. Our Innovation Centers are designed to solve the trilemma by enhancing the portfolio based on their Fields of Action. Along with our company’s bundled expertise, we develop clean energy technologies jointly with our local ecosystems. We focus on the commercialization of innovative solutions to accelerate energy transition.
The Innovation Center Shenzhen (ICS) was established in 2021 and is one of four Siemens Energy Innovation Centers globally, alongside Berlin, Abu Dhabi, and Orlando. Serving Greater China and the Asia‑Pacific region, ICS combines Siemens Energy’s global capabilities with regional industrial, technological, and innovation strengths.
With a strong focus on energy technology R&D and innovation‑driven business development, ICS has steadily expanded its regional presence across locations including Beijing, Shanghai, Hainan, and Singapore. Leveraging the advantages of the Asia‑Pacific region, as well as those of China’s Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Hainan Free Trade Port, ICS concentrates on key energy transition fields such as green power generation, long‑duration energy storage, zero‑carbon industrial parks, green hydrogen, ammonia and methanol and their system optimization and integration, data centers, carbon footprint digital platforms and green certification, as well as decarbonization solutions for the industrial sector. Through open collaboration and coordinated development across government, industry, application sectors, universities, and research institutions, ICS continues to evolve into a new‑type innovation center.
